Workers’ Permits Company in Israel Reveals New Details of its Agreement with Hamas Government
Gaza, Aug. 18 – A Palestinian official on Saturday affirmed that in the coming weeks, the Hamas-run Work Ministry will announce that the work permits will be issued by the approved recruitment companies.
Mohammed Shalabi, a manager of one of the companies that Hamas authorities have recently licensed, told reporters that the whole process is going smooth and fine.
Under the current system that has been in place for years, Gaza workers applied for permits through the Work Ministry, which sends the applications to Israel through the Palestinian Authority’s Civil Affairs Commission.
The workers wait for Israeli security clearance before getting the permits and entering Israel to search their jobs.
Hamas authorities say the new recruitment companies will secure jobs for the workers and ensure their rights in a move meant to protect the laborers and their rights
Every worker must pay 3600 shakels to the person who follows the Israeli company from starting the permit until finishing.
Hamas has confirmed that it has not received any part of the 3,600 shekels and the Ministry of Labour will oversee and manage the companies.
Shalaby said the worker can instalment the ‘3600’shekels paying ‘600’ shekels per month of his salaryy.
