Iran sends letters to UN, OIC, Muslim FMs to stop Israeli crimes at Al-Aqsa
Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, said on Thursday in separate letters to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hissein Brahim Taha and foreign ministers of Islamic states to express deep concern about the crimes committed by the Israeli regime against the Palestinians.
Amir Abdollahian voiced in letters his deep concern about the Tel Aviv regime’s storming at the al-Aqsa Mosque complex and the flare-up in raids against the Palestinians during the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
He added that any violation of the holy places revered by Muslims as well as lacerating their feelings were refused and unacceptable.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran …. in accordance with the international law … has put unwavering support for the liberation fight and resistance of the Palestinian people aimed at the full realization of their human rights among the planks of its foreign policy,” Amir Abdollahian said, condemning the Israeli violations in the strongest terms.
He clarified, in his letters, that the recent Israeli aggression clearly asserted the regime’s policy to alter the identity of al-Quds.
The Iranian foreign minister also called for quick and firm movement of the international community and the UN, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to support the Palestinians and called the UN to immediately address the recent developments in the occupied territories.
He concluded, “The establishment of lasting and fair peace in the region is possible only if the occupation of Palestine ends, Palestinian refuges return to their homeland and an independent Palestinian state is established with al-Quds as its capital”.
Tensions have flared in latest days after Israeli occupation stormed the al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
Over 170 Palestinians have been injured and hundreds of others detained since Israeli forces launched raids into the mosque compound for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday.
Besides, hundreds of Palestinians have protested Israeli forces breaking into al-Aqsa Mosque, chanting slogans and calling for Arab and international support for al-Aqsa Mosque worshippers and those in the occupied territories facing intensified Israeli violence against Palestinians.
