Extrimest settlers rob Palestinian-owned tent in Masafer Yatta
Israeli settlers on Sunday removed and looted a Palestinian-owned tent in Khirbet Martaba, a village east of Yatta in the southern West Bank district of Hebron according to local sources.
A group of Israeli settlers from the nearby illegal settlement of Maon raided the village and robbed a tent belonging to Mahmoud Daies, a local Palestinian citizen, according to Fo’ad Emour, a local Palestinian official in charge of the Israeli settlement file in the area.
The settlers also destroyed the fence of a sheep barn belonging to another Palestinian from the village, according to him.
Israeli settler violence against Palestinians and their property is prevalent throughout the West Bank, although Israeli occupation authorities rarely punish it.
In defiance of international law and consensus, nearly 600,000 Israeli settlers live in Israeli colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
