Member of Iranian Revolutionary Guards assassinated in Tehran
Gunmen shot dead a member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards on Sunday in the eastern part of the capital Tehran, state news agency IRNA reported.
“Sayyad Khodai was murdered in a gun attack by two motorcyclists on Mohahedin-e Eslam Street in Tehran,” said IRNA, describing him as a “sanctuary defender” – referring to anyone who works for of Iran in Syria or Iraq.
An Iranian official confirmed to Al-Jazeera that the group responsible for the assassination of Revolutionary Guards Colonel Sayyad Khodayi will pay a heavy price.
