Because of bird flu, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday stopped importing poultry meat and its products from America and France
Following the outbreak of avian influenza, Saudi authorities announced a ban on the import of poultry meat, table eggs, and related products and equipment from the United States and France.
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority’s letter to chambers of commerce disclosed a restriction on poultry meat and goods from the US states of Delaware and Kentuck as well as the Mayen area of France.
According to international food safety data from countries throughout the world, as well as studies from the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), avian flu in the United States and the French region is highly pathogenic.
Several European countries, including Italy, Denmark, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, as well as territories in Russia, reported the appearance of bird flu last winter.
