Shadi Ghawadra, 34, a Palestinian inmate in Israeli prison, has been diagnosed with a lung tumor amid delays by the Israeli Prison Service in allowing him access to the necessary medical examinations, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) has stated.
Ghwadra, a citizen of the town of Bir el-Basha, north of the occupied West Bank, has been in prison since 2003 and is serving a life in prison. He’s already suffering several health cases due to being injured by Israeli occupation soldiers the time he was detained in 2003.
PPS reported there has been a noticeable rise in the number of Palestinian inmates diagnosed with cancer or tumors inside Israeli prisons, noting that there could many more other issues that are not yet diagnosed.
Sources asserted that at least 4,500 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons, incarcerated for resisting the Israeli occupation of their homeland.
