Israeli navy troops assaulted boats of Palestinian fishermen sailing several nautical miles off the coast of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, forcing them to return to shore, according to one of the fishermen according to local sources.
The Israeli navy started a fire on their boats as they were traveling three nautical miles out at sea, forcing them to return to shore to avoid being hit, sources said.
Fishing is a major source of revenue in Gaza, however, the Israeli navy’s blockade of the Gaza Sea frequently prohibits fishermen from making a living.
