Miss Brazil dies due to medical error
Miss Brazil 2018, Gleycy Correia, passed away at the age of 27, after undergoing a routine surgery performed by millions around the world annually.
Gleesi died in a medical clinic in Brazil, after suffering severe bleeding and a fatal heart attack, 5 days after she underwent a tonsillectomy.
The family of the beauty queen said that their daughter underwent a routine operation, which millions of people are undergoing around the world, but she suffered a severe bleeding, which led to a heart attack, which put her in a coma since last April 4, until she breathed her last on Tuesday.
The priest close to the Jalesi family said that the girl’s family were sure that a medical error had occurred during the operation, as their daughter’s body was sent for autopsy, to find out the reason for the bleeding that killed her.
Gleesi was crowned Miss United Continents in Brazil in 2018, and was also an entrepreneur specializing in laser treatments and permanent makeup.
Gleesi has about 55,000 followers on Instagram, and after she fell into a coma, her relatives repeatedly asked to pray for her through her page.
Doctors say that after removing the tonsils, the patient recovers within 10 days, and the rate of bleeding is a rare complication of this surgery, as it happens to only 2% of patients.
