Abdullah II stresses need for calm between Palestinians, Israel
Abdullah II, Jordan’s King, in a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Sunday emphasized the importance of finding a comprehensive calm that would prevent any tension or escalation in the Palestinian territories.
The King emphasized the significance of enabling procedures and taking the necessary steps to allow worshipers to reach the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque without obstacles or harassment, especially during Ramadan.
Since March 22, eight Palestinians were killed by Israeli soldiers. During his meeting with Israeli President Isaac Herzog last Wednesday in Amman, Jordan’s monarch expressed the kingdom’s condemnation of all forms of violence, which Palestinians and Israelis pay the price, noting the ongoing conflict between the two sides provides fertile ground for extremism.
