Apple urges users to update iPhone phones immediately
Apple urged iPhone users to download the latest version of its operating system, iOS 15.6 because it contains patches for 39 vulnerabilities that operate like open windows for hackers.
According to the British Daily Mail, modifications have been committed to memory security flaws, some of which tell users to remote code execution attacks, and thus access sensitive data.
15.6 iOS or iPadOS 15.6 can be downloaded by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
Besides fixing security gaps, the new iOS 15.6 fixes system flaws such as those that incorrectly show users that their storage space is full, or how a Safari tab returns to the last page on its own.
Apple stated that all iPhone devices running smoothly on iOS 14 are capable of using iOS 15, which has iPhone 6s and any smartphones created thereafter. It is not clear how long dozens of security gaps have been affecting the devices, with Apple declaring it, “does not detect, discuss or confirm security issues until an investigation is carried out and corrections or versions are available.”
However, it shared a list of all the affected features, how they are at risk, and how to address the problem.
The company did not announce that any of the problems were actively exploited, as it did in May 2021 when WebKit was discovered to be at risk.
The launch of iOS 15.6 comes just a few months before the launch of Apple’s iOS 16 – which usually happens in autumn.
The next system was announced on June 6 at Apple’s annual Global Developers Conference (WWDC).
iOS 16 was defined as having the “biggest ever update” of the lock screen which will make it easy to change the background images of the lock screen and the color and design of the latitudes.
