Russian nutritionist Dr. Darya Rusakova revealed that plant-based foodstuffs are the most useful for normal kidney work.
Speaking to URA.RU, the expert notes that to maintain kidney health the diet should include leafy vegetables, fruits, and liquid-rich vegetables, it must also be diverse.
It is recommended to eat fish and non-fatty meat with fresh vegetables and fruits according to Russia today.
It said, “The kidneys perform the function of cleaning the body, extracting excess fluids and metabolic products, it is not recommended to load the kidneys with a large number of protein foods, meat, and fatty fish because they damage the work of the kidneys because the products of purine metabolism found in animal food proteins are also treated by the kidneys.”
It added, that the most harmful products for kidneys are dairy products when overeating, as well as fatty protein foods.
For example, it is not recommended to eat more than 300 grams of cottage cheese a day, because, on the contrary, it will have a negative effect on the functioning of the kidneys.
