IOF attacks activists demonstrating in Jerusalem against aggression on Gaza
Israeli occupation forces attacked and dispersed a march held on Saturday by Palestinian activists in the vicinity of the Damascus Gate plaza in occupied Jerusalem. The march was organized in protest of the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
Local sources said Israeli forces physically attacked the protesters, beat them up, and detained at least one of them.
Meantime, scores of Israeli settlers took part in a provocative rally inside the Old City of Jerusalem and shouted racist slogans under heavy police protection.
The march comes only a day before stresses are expected to increase again tomorrow as Jewish fanatic groups are planning a mass break-in into Al-Aqsa Mosque, a Muslim holy place located in Jerusalem’s Old City.
The so-called Temple Mount groups, who desire to demolish Al-Aqsa Mosque and replace it with a Jewish temple, called on their followers to be attending at the Muslim holy place on Sunday to mark the Tisha B’av (the ninth of Av) holiday, a day of fasting marking the alleged destruction of the two Jewish temples more than two thousand years ago.
