Trump ripped up government documents and threw it in a toilet
Photos due to be published in a new book reveal that former US President Donald Trump threw ripped government documents into a toilet.
New York Times correspondent Maggie Haberman got photos of the dumping of documents for her forthcoming book “Man of Trust” about the Trump White House, the New York Daily News reported Monday.
Despite Trump’s denials, the photos show scraps of paper in two toilets with his signature handwriting on them.
“Some of Trump’s aides were familiar with this habit, which he has repeatedly engaged in,” Haberman told Axios.
According to the report, one photo of a toilet is in the White House while another is from an overseas trip.
Trump mocked the new report through his spokesman Tyler Podwich.
The twice-impeached President famously shredded the documents in his repeated outbursts of anger, forcing his aides to collect clippings that had to be later glued together and presented to the National Archives.
Such proceedings could violate the Presidential Records Act, which provides that such records are government property and must be preserved.
