GTA 5 sales after 9 years exceeded 170m, Red Dead Redemption 2 decline
The GTA 5 game continued to increase its sales even though nearly 10 years passed since its release, and now it has a turnover of more than 170 million sold copies.
GTA 5 sales as of the end of the last fiscal year on March 31, 2022, amounted to 165 million units, meaning that by the end of June the game had sold more than 5 million copies in about 4 months.
While sales of the parts of the full Grand Theft Auto series exceeded the barrier of 380 million copies sold worldwide throughout its history, becoming the publisher’s most rewarding series.
A distinctive number to achieve a game that is almost in its tenth year since its launch and over the course of 3 consecutive generations, perhaps thanks to the re-launch of the new generation version as well as continued support for the game, the most recent update of GTA Online: The Criminal Enterprises.
These figures were based on its latest earnings report for the previous fiscal quarter results of Take-Two Interactive, a publisher that ended June 30, 2022, which provided a new update on the latest sales figures for its best-selling most popular titles, as well as other updates to its individual games.
GTA has now 5 become the bestselling title in the United States of America in the past 10 years, while it was second in favor of the second popularity game Red Dead Redemption 2 which has managed to sell more than 45 million copies on various devices worldwide.
Red Dead Redemption 2 and the online development that Rockstar openly abandoned and discontinued support with large content has managed to sell only 1 million copies over the same period, and the decline in sales seems to come because the game hasn’t had much additional content in a year.
While sales of the iconic NBA 2K basketball series reached more than 125 million units worldwide, the series undoubtedly becomes the best-selling basketball title within the United States and around the world as well.
Borderlands has been able to sell more than 75 million units worldwide, and these figures are the same as those sold during the previous quarter.
