WhatsApp “computer” will not need to be connected to phone anymore
The instant communication application “WhatsApp” announced that using the application on computers no longer needs to be linked with a smartphone in order to work, in a step that will make it easier for many who rely on the application to complete their work.
WhatsApp announced in an update statement on its official website that the new version for computers is now available to everyone.
WhatsApp added that its users in the past needed to have the phone next to them in order to connect with the computer, in order to be able to use the “desktop” version of the application, but this is no longer required.
The application asserted that it is always striving to make the application experience on computers better, and in the context a copy of the application was developed, especially for computers running Windows and Mac.
Among the advantages of the new step, is the increase in the speed and reliability of the application, the provision of a compatible version with the computer’s operating systems, and the continuation of receiving alerts and messages even when the phone is not connected to the Internet.
WhatsApp has put a link to download a copy of the application on computers running both systems, explaining the necessary steps for that.
The introduction page of the application on the Microsoft Store says that “WhatsApp” is owned by “Meta”, and it is 100 percent free, and used by two billion people in 180 countries around the world.
