Facebook loses its position among 10 most downloaded apps on smart devices
The social media platform Facebook struggled to maintain its presence in the list of the 10 most downloaded apps on smart devices in the United States via the online store, according to an analysis of the store’s data.
TechCrunch, which specializes in technology topics, said that as young users switch to newer social media platforms such as TikTok and Be Real, traditional platforms such as Facebook are struggling to maintain their popularity.
For example, last year the Facebook app came out of the list of 10 most downloaded free apps seven times.
In 2022, however, the number of the app’s graduation increased to 97 times, suggesting that Facebook could graduate completely thanks to the growing popularity of competing new apps.
During the first half of last year, Facebook was out of the top 10 list only six times, but in the first half of this year, the app was out of the list 59 times.
The application also remained off the list of the top 10 applications for a continuous 37 days during the current year, while the longest period last year was only two days.
A new analysis of the App Store data was also confirmed by the DataDotA platform.
The popularity of the Facebook app has declined, with the app leaving the list of the 10 most downloaded apps in the United States 4 times over the past year, as opposed to 110 days during the current year.
The application’s exit period from the top 10 was concentrated in April, May, and June.
