Herd of settlers uproots olive trees for Palestinian farmers in Nablus
Local sources said on Sunday that a herd of Israeli settlers uprooted and stole nearly 35 olive saplings last night after creeping into the Azmut village, east of Nablus in the north of the occupied West Bank.
Palestinian official who documents Israeli violations in the area, Ghassan Daghlas, said that citizens of the village were shocked in the morning after discovering that 35 olive saplings were uprooted by a group of Israeli settlers who crept into a northern outskirt of the village the last night.
The trees belonged to Morad Amer, a local Palestinian farmer, who had grown them two months ago.
Daghlas said that violence and vandalism by Israeli settlers are commonplace across the occupied West Bank, and they are never charged by the occupation authorities.
Between 500,000 and 600,000 Israeli settlers live in Israeli-only settlements in the occupied Palestinian Territories, which violates international law.
