500 administrative prisoners boycott Israeli courts for 99th day
500 administrative prisoners remained on their boycott of the Israeli occupation courts under the slogan “Our decision is freedom,” for the 99th consecutive day, as part of their fight against the policy of administrative detention.
At the start of last January, the administrative detainees had taken a collective stand, expressing a comprehensive and final boycott of all judicial procedures related to administrative arrest(judicial review, appeal, supreme).
The administrative arrest is detention without charge or trial, and without permitting the prisoner or his lawyer to inspect the proof materials, in clear and explicit violation of the requirements of international humanitarian law, so that Israel is the only party in the world that practices this policy.
The occupation charges and jail administrations claim that administrative inmates have secret files that can never be revealed, so the detainee does not know the length of his sentence or the charges against him.
The administrative inmate is often subjected to the renewal of the arrest period more than once for a period of three months, six months, or eight, and sometimes it may reach a full year, and in some cases, it has reached seven years, as in the case of the fighter Ali Al-Jamal.
It is noteworthy that the number of inmates in the occupation prisons reached more than 4,500 inmates, including 31 female inmates, and nearly 180 children.
