Dahlan condemns Israeli collective punishment toward Gaza
Democratic Reformists within Fatah Movement’s leader, Mohamed Dahlan, on Monday, rejected and condemned the Israeli Government’s policy of collective punishment on the Gaza Strip.
Dahlan said in a press statement via his Facebook account that the Israeli collective punishment policy by closing the Beit Hanoun “Erez” crossing, is rejected and condemned.
He stated that the blockade of Gaza including economic, health, and social crises, as well as the deprivation of the lives of 12 thousand workers today, is only a war crime.
Dahlan added that the Israeli government bears responsibility for these crises
as it is an occupying power that refuses to recognize the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights to liberation and independence.
“The trade-off of calm for economic peace is unacceptable. The Palestinian people, not the Israeli government, are fighting for their freedom and dignity while the other attacked and assaulted people,” he said.
Dahlan concluded, “The occupation government must open the Beit Hanoun crossing and follow the conventions and treaties signed in this regard, we urge all regional and international actors involved in the Palestinian cause to put additional pressure on the occupation to reverse its arbitrary policies and ensure the security situation remains stable”.
