The Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) released a report on Saturday , which clarified 384 Israeli infractions against investigative journalists in the occupied Palestinian Territory were recorded in 2021.
Israeli abuses against journalists, according to WAFA, include shooting live and metal shots at journalists, launching tear gas, and beating and arresting journalists. It was pointed out that such attacks are intended to conceal the facts and keep Israeli crimes against unarmed Palestinian residents hidden.
“Israeli fight jets were used to assulat journalists, press crews, and institutions, and demolishing towers that house local and international media headquarters are not new, but rather a systematic behavior in the Israeli military strategy, as well as a barbaric behavior targeting the safety of journalists in order to terrorize them,” WAFA reported.
WAFA called on worldwide human rights organizations and press unions to condemn the atrocities by initiating international initiatives to defend Palestinian journalists who are subjected to everyday Israeli violations.
