IOF chases, shoots Palestinian workers in northern West Bank
Local and security sources reported that Israeli troops chased and shot Palestinian laborers in a cluster of communities west and east of Jenin on Thursday morning.
It claimed that highly armed soldiers invaded the villages of At-Tayba, ‘Anin, Faqqu’a, and Tura firing stun grenades teargas canisters, and rubber-coated steel bullets at laborers on their way to work inside Israel, causing a number of people to choke due to tear gas inhalation.
Hundreds of Palestinians labor in Israel without a permit and police frequently pursue and jail them before returning them to the occupied West Bank, where jobs are scarce and salary is substantially lower.
Israelis significantly restrict Palestinians’ freedom of movement via a sophisticated system of over 100 fixed checkpoints, flying checkpoints, settler-only highways, and other physical barriers.
