The UK calls for restrained Israel’s use of live fire against Palestinian children
The United Kingdom on Saturday called for restraint on the Israeli occupation’s use of live fire against Palestinians in the occupied territories.
The call came after Israeli soldiers on Friday shot and killed 14-year-old Zaid Ghuneim in the town of al-Khader, south of Bethlehem, the fifth child shot and killed by the unrestrained Israeli forces gunfire this month and the 13th since the beginning of this year.
Besides, the UK called on the Israeli authorities “to conduct a swift, transparent and independent investigation” into the murder of Ghuneim.
The Israeli prime minister eased limitations on his army’s use of live fire against Palestinians in the occupied territories, which caused a large number of Palestinians to be shot and killed this year by Israeli soldiers, a number exceeding 50 until now.
