However, there is a lot of research on what happens after eating the pre-dawn meal, and many people wonder if the pre-dawn meal causes weight gain or if it depends on the types of foods in the pre-dawn meal.
Sleeping after suhoor has some drawbacks
In the holy month of Ramadan, there are numerous risks associated with sleeping after suhoor, and while it is desirable to prolong suhoor until the last two hours of the night, it should not occur before the morning call to prayer, according to the Prophet’s Sunnah.
The main reason for not sleeping after the suhoor meal is to give the body time to digest the food and avoid harming it as not remaining awake for a long period of time might cause a variety of health problems.
Risks of sleeping immediately after suhoor during Ramadan:
1- Increase weight
Eating meals and then sleeping slows burning rates, causing weight gain and putting the person’s health at risk with cardiovascular disease and blood pressure.
2-Disorders of the digestive system
Sleeping after suhoor has a negative impact on the digestive system and can lead to GERD, heartburn, flatulence, and other digestive issues.
3- blood clots
Sleeping right after eating puts a person at risk of having a stroke while sleeping.
4- Sleep disruptions
During Ramadan, it causes sleep difficulties and insomnia, which leads to worry, tension, and a lack of attention during the day.
5- Feeling thirsty
If the Suhoor meal contains salt or caffeine, and you sleep right after it, you will be thirsty throughout Ramadan.
6- Illnesses
Sleeping after Suhoor can cause inflammation, which affects the vascular muscle cells in particular.
7- Difficulty breathing at night
If a person eats a lot of food before falling asleep, he may have breathing problems while sleeping, as a full stomach affects the lung and the process of breathing in general.
