Shtayyeh calls for forming int’l front to protect two-state solution
Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh asserted on Sunday the importance of an international front to pressure Israel to end its occupation and save the two-state solution.
At a meeting in Ramallah with Maya Tissafi, Assistant State Secretary of the Swiss foreign ministry and head of the Middle East and North Africa Department, Shtayyeh called on Switzerland to emphasize the state of Palestine.
Besides, The prime minister called on Switzerland and the international community to pressure Israel to abide by and respect the signed deals, in addition to stopping all its measures and attacks in the Palestinian territories, as well as providing international protection for the Palestinian people.
He said that there is a dangerous political vacuum, in addition to the deterioration of the situation on the ground, which raises the cycle of violence, asserting rejection of the current status quo.
Shtayyeh and Tesafi also clarified ways to strengthen bilateral relations, highlighting the importance of joint coordination for supporting Palestine according to government priorities, which contributes to creating job opportunities and economic development.
