Dozens of settlers defile Aqsa Mosque: sources
Dozens of Israeli settlers escorted by police desecrated the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem, on Wednesday morning according to local sources.
83 settlers entered the Mosque through the Maghariba Gate in various groups and visited the courtyards, according to local sources.
The settlers were given lessons by rabbis about the putative temple mount during their tours of the Islamic holy site, and a number of them provocatively conducted Talmudic prayers.
One of the groups who defiled the Mosque during the morning tours included far-right Knesset member Yehuda Glick.
According to the local sources, former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to storm the Mosque later that evening with other right-wing extremists.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces have placed their soldiers on high alert across the holy city in preparation for any disruption that Netanyahu’s visit may cause.
