One of this fruit saves women’s lives daily
Bananas have a high nutritional value. It is full of beneficial nutrients such as vitamin A and vitamin C, as well as important minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus. Their fat ratio is very low, it is 0.33g per 100 grams.
A scientific study said that eating a banana a day can protect women from heart attacks or strokes.
The study asserted that diets rich in potassium, are associated with lowering blood pressure, especially in women who eat large amounts of salt.
Researchers clarified that regular consumption of foods such as bananas, avocado, and salmon (rich in potassium), can help reduce the negative effects of salt, thus fighting cardiovascular disease.
The researchers explained that their findings suggest that the metal helps keep the heart healthy, but women are the most beneficiaries of men.
The study said the relationship between potassium and heart damage was the same regardless of salt intake, suggesting that potassium had other ways of protecting the heart as well as increasing sodium secretion in urine.
Professor Lefert Vogt of the Medical Centres of the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands, who led the study, said, “High salt consumption is known to be associated with high blood pressure and an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes.”
“Health tips focused on reducing salt intake but this is difficult when our meals include processed foods. Food companies can assist by replacing standard salt with potassium salt substitutes.”
He added, “In our study, nutritional potassium was associated with the greatest health benefits in women.”
The study included 11,267 men and 13,696 women from the Epic-Norfolk study. Participants completed a questionnaire on lifestyle habits, as well as measuring blood pressure, and collecting urine samples as well as Sodium and potassium were used in urine to estimate dietary intake.
The researchers confirmed the relationship between potassium intake and blood pressure and found that potassium consumption (gram per day) was associated with women’s blood pressure. They found that with increased metal intake, blood pressure decreases.
