Prisoner Ahmed Manasra has an appeals session in Be’ er Sheva today
A special appeal hearing will be held in the Beersheba Central Court on Wednesday to request the immediate release of detainee Ahmed Manasra (20 years old).
Last March, a campaign was launched to demand the immediate release of the detainee “Ahmed Manasra”, with massive support in the past hours, as the appeal hearing approached.
Ahmed Manasra was subjected to harsh pressure and was revealed in a video recording during the interrogation of him as a child (13 years old), reacting to the investigator’s inquiries with “I can’t remember” ” مش متذكر”, becoming a trend on social media to demand his release.
On 12 October 2015, the Israeli forces arrested the child, “Ahmed Manasra”, and sentenced him to nine and a half years’ imprisonment, before transferring him to prison. The Israeli authorities detained him in harsh circumstances, for two years at a juvenile prison.
Later, Ahmed was transferred to Megiddo prison after being over the age of 14.
Child “Ahmed Manasra” faces difficult and dangerous health and psychological conditions in solitary confinement in Isle Be ‘er Sheva prison.
In the first quarter of 2022, local sources monitored the arrest of 168 children by Israeli forces, dispersed over the months of January 55, February 49, and March 64.
