Facebook hits TikTok
Facebook made a modification to its app that made the homepage like that of its main rival TikTok, where two sections stand out.
One of the two sections announced by Facebook is based on posts appearing in front of the user according to their chronological order, belonging to any user or page followed by the person.
While the second section contains proposed posts before the user based on algorithms that may be of interest to him.
In a metaphor with TikTok’s home page “Four U”, where the app algorithm focuses on determining what a person wants to see and show in front of them, according to Mont Carlo.
The modification comes at a time when Facebook owner Meta TikTok is competing for the top of its media platforms, trying to keep as many users as possible as part of its multibillion-dollar advertising business.
Meta said that “the modification takes into account thousands of signals that help to reach users through the homepage”.
