Million, 385 thousand students begin their study year in Palestine
One million and 385 thousand students in all the governorates of the West Bank and Gaza Strip on Monday went to their schools.
The number of students in government schools is 911,100 students, distributed among 2,333 schools, 339,100 students in UNRWA schools, distributed among 375 schools, and 134,800 students in private schools, totaling 484 schools.
The total number of teachers is 73,900, distributed among 52,400 in public schools, 11,200 in UNRWA schools, and 10,300 in private schools.
The Ministry of Education named the new school year the “Year of Sovereignty of Education in Jerusalem”, an expression of the commitment of all Palestinians to defend the identity, spirit and contents of education in Jerusalem, and to protect it from (familyization), ironing awareness and falsifying the facts of history and geography.
