Details of Al-Emadi’s meeting with Wencesland, Thomas White in Gaza
Chairman of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, Ambassador Mohammed Al-Emadi, met this Thursday evening with the Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wencesland, in his office in Gaza.
Al-Emadi briefed Wencesland on the latest developments in the humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territories, stressing the continuation of Qatar’s efforts and its support for the Palestinian people.
The two sides discussed ways of joint cooperation between the two sides to try to avoid more conflict, which causes a double deterioration of the living conditions of the Gaza residents, and the proposed solutions to improve the living conditions of the Gazans.
Al-Emadi thanked Lunsland for his visit and his ongoing follow-up to the Palestinian file, praising the role of the United Nations in working to achieve calm in the region.
On Wednesday evening, Al-Emadi received the Director of Operations of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Gaza Strip, Thomas White.
He reviewed Qatar’s efforts to support the Palestinian people, its practical steps to alleviate the suffering of the residents of the Gaza Strip, and the contacts it is making with all parties to provide basic aid to the residents of the Strip.
Ambassador Al Emadi thanked his guest for the efforts made by UNRWA to provide the necessary support to the residents of the Gaza Strip, recommending the need to urge the international community to continue its support for the United Nations institutions operating in the Gaza Strip in order to alleviate the humanitarian crisis experienced by the residents of the Strip.
