It only takes 7 minutes… simple exercise reduces quarrel between spouses
A simple exercise can reduce arguments and quarrels with a life partner, and possibly save married life, according to a recent study conducted by Northwestern University of America.
The exercise, according to the study, takes only seven minutes.
The Italian magazine “Focus” said that, according to American researchers, to prevent the spouses from deviating from their feelings and maintaining a high level of satisfaction, it is sufficient for each party to write on a sheet of paper the details of the latest quarrel with the other partner, but from the point of view of a hypothetical third person who wants the interests of both parties.
The researchers emphasized that this method is effective to reduce the quarrel between spouses, and thus enjoy a happy life, noting that it is sufficient to follow this exercise only three times a year.
In their experiment, the researchers identified marital differences among 120 American couples over a two-year period, and evaluated those relationships according to several criteria, such as satisfaction, love, intimacy, trust, affection, and commitment.
During the second year, the researchers asked half of the participating couples to do the aforementioned exercise every four months, and half of the pairs did the exercise.
The couples who practiced the exercise were found to be happier and more satisfied with their marital life than others, which in short means that this training, which aims to know the different causes of quarrels from an external point of view, can improve the relationship between the spouses and possibly avoid the end of the relationship.
