Dahlan calls international community to bear responsibility for end occupation
Leader of the Democratic Reformists within Fatah Movement, Mohamed Dahlan on Sunday marked in a press statement the 74th anniversary of Palestinian Nakba and called the international community to bear its responsibility for end the Israeli occupation.
He said that (The Nakba) is a renewed act in our Palestinian history and reality that began years before May 15, 1948, when colonial powers decided to turn Palestine into a colonial base and hand it over to the Israeli settlers in response to the ominous Balfour Declaration and the Mandate Instrument, which paved the way for the Nakba of Palestine.
“The Nakba is being revived in various forms today, from the cold-blooded murder of Palestinian young men and women on a daily basis, to the killing of unarmed civilians, and the most recent of these crimes is the assassination of journalist Sherine Abu Aqleh in front of the cameras, and the brutal assault on her funeral,”he said.
He added that Human rights advocates must submit this file, along with all other files relating to occupation crimes, to the International Criminal Court, and we warn against the consequences of irresponsibility and neglect in dealing with the Palestinian right, as well as the dealing with the guardians of the word and image, and all of our people in all of our places of worship.
This case should not be subjected to political wrangling, as was the case with the (Goldstone) report and Israel’s aggression against the Gaza Strip in the past. Thousands of Israelis come to the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
According to Dahlan, in order to end the occupation, the international community and the great countries that were both a cause and a direct component in the Palestinian catastrophe must accept historical responsibility.
Dahlan concluded, “Our people will not give up the fight and will continue to fight for what is right, we don’t have any other option”.
