Paul Pogba claims he was the victim of an attempted blackmail by his brother who has accused him of embracing witchcraft
In a bizarre and worrying development that threatens to derail France’s defense of its World Cup title in Qatar later this year, Paul Pogba has fallen out with his brother Mathias, who made headlines over the weekend.

It seemingly came out of nowhere over the weekend, when Mathias posted videos in English, Spanish, French and Italian, threatening to do so “great revelations” about brother Paul, his agent Rafaela Pimenta and PSG star Mbappe.“The whole world deserves to know certain things so that the public can decide whether [Paul Pogba] really deserves the admiration, the respect, his place in the French team if he is a trustworthy person and worthy of representing the youth of the world, working-class neighborhoods and big brands”, Mathias Pogba claimed on Saturday.
He also questioned pimentas “Integrity and Professionalism” with Paul Pogba looking at the Brazilian “like a second mother” as a lawyer-turned-agent, continuing Mino Raiola’s affairs after the Italian passed away in April at the age of 54.
What did Paul Pogba reply to that? Along with his real-life mother Yeo Moriba and Pimenta, Pogba released a statement on Sunday saying that the “Unfortunately, Mathias Pogba’s recent comments on social media are not a surprise.”

The gang reportedly demanded €13m in cash from Pogba after accusing him of not helping his friends. they also “pulled him to an apartment in Paris” and wanted to be paid for allegedly giving him protection for 13 years.
The same article states that Pogba explained to the Central Directorate of the Criminal Investigation Department how he had always remained close to the childhood friends with whom he had grown up in the Paris suburbs and had never hesitated to help them whenever it was necessary.
However, that was until January of this year. While still at Manchester United, Pogba reportedly had to evict a friend from his house when he realized he had allegedly used Pogba’s credit card to steal €200,000 ($200,000) from him.
How did Pogba’s brother react? Sharing the France Info article on Twitter, Mathias lapsed into a multi-post rant where he said what he expected happened when Paul Pogba started showing himself “his real face.”
“Since it was he who started talking to the police to lie to them and who leaked the information, you can’t blame me.” Mathias extended.
“Paul, you really wanted to shut me up completely [and] lie [to] send me to jail” Mathias said while addressing his younger sibling directly.
He proceeded to brand his brother a “Coward, traitor and hypocrite” while claiming that the dispute was not about money.
Mathias then turned his attention to French teammate Mbappe and asked: “Kylian, do you understand now?”
The “marabout” comment was apparently a reference to a traditional African religious figure often believed to possess magical powers, with the Pogba family hailing from Guinea.
“I feel sorry for that brother, a so-called Muslim, who is deep in witchcraft. It is never good to have a hypocrite and a traitor around!” Mathias has signed off.
Are the police involved? On Monday afternoon, the Associated Press Approved that French prosecutors are investigating Pogba’s extortion attempt allegations against Mathias and her childhood friends.
Paris prosecutors said they had launched an investigation earlier this month with anti-corruption police into attempted organized extortion.
With less than three months until Qatar 2022, it remains to be seen if Pogba can recover from a knee injury and play as well as he did at Russia 2018, or if his mind will be elsewhere.
