Contagious illness like Ebola kills people in Ghana
Ghana’s health authority announced on Sunday that it recorded two Marburg virus infections, coinciding with the death of two cases of the same disease this month, according to the sources.
The Authority clarified that the consequences of the studies of the two cases confirmed at the Pasteur Institute in Dakar, Senegal, indicated that it had isolated all contacts, to reduce the spread of the Marburg virus.
The communications of the two cases have not yet shown any symptoms.
The Marburg virus is a highly contagious illness, much like the Ebola epidemic, whose first infection was detected this year in Guinea, after which no other cases were reported.
This is the second Marburg virus outbreak in West Africa.
