Israel to lessen restrictions on Palestinians as “calm”
Israel on Monday sent messages to countries that it thinks it could affect the Palestinians, especially Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Qatar, the Emirates, as well as to the US administration.
The occupation government said in its messages that it hopes these countries take steps to lessen stress in Jerusalem and the West Bank, during the month of Ramadan.
According to Israeli media, the Israeli government thought in these letters that if the Palestinians hold calm during the month of Ramadan, it will provide facilities, mainly related to giving work permits.
Besides, the Israeli government calls on the countries that got it to put pressure on “Hamas” and “Islamic Jihad” movements, and on the Palestinian Authority.
It claimed that it will provide facilities to the Palestinians if calm stayed in the occupied territories, while Israeli officials resume their provocative tours in the old City of Jerusalem, during which they start against the Palestinians, and allow extremist settlers and Knesset members to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Israeli government plans to make these “facilitations” gradual, it will implement this by imposing age restrictions on Palestinians’ access to Al-Aqsa Mosque, and so that reducing the age of worshipers is conditional on calm.
This will be decided after the Israeli government conducts an assessment of the situation, in the middle of this week.
Jordanian King Abdullah II requested, during a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, that no restrictions be imposed on the age of worshipers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Israeli government summons this policy against the Palestinians with armed operations, during the last two weeks, and armed clashes in the Jenin area in the northern West Bank, after the raids of the occupation forces.
It is noteworthy that the Israeli security services look at the armed functions that took place in recent weeks, and they were operations initiated by the perpetrators, and the Palestinian factions did not stand behind them.
