Israeli FM conducts a provocative tour of Bab al-Amud in Jerusalem
Israeli FM (Foreign Minister) Yair Lapid accompanied Israeli settlers on a provocative tour of Bab Al-Amoud in Occupied Jerusalem, on Sunday evening.
“Lapid participated in analyzing the position of the (Israeli) police station in Jerusalem owing to probable unrest in the holy city”, according to local sources.
Israeli occupation set up a fence and a mobile police station near Bab al-Amud in Jerusalem on Saturday according to the Mi’raj platform
Israeli forces attempted to impose additional conditions in the Bab al-Amud neighborhood, which was the scene of the Saif al-Quds battle last Ramadan.
To tighten control over the region, Israeli forces seek to prohibit Jerusalemites from gathering at Bab al-Amud.
The inflammatory visit comes three days after Itamar Ben Gvir, an extremist Israeli Knesset member, stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque with a gang of settlers.
Under the protection of Israeli forces, a settler party led by Ben Gvir performed Talmudic ceremonies in the Al-Aqsa courtyards.
