Israeli settlers attack farmers, herders in Masafer Yatta
Israeli settlers on Tuesday assaulted farmers and herders in Khirbet Aqwewis in Masafer Yatta, in the South Hebron Hills, the farmers said.
Farmer, Jibril Abu Arram, said that settlers from Mitzpe Yair and Susiya constructed illegally on confiscated Palestinian-owned land east of Yatta town, assaulted the farmers with batons, cursed them with profanity, and let their livestock scratch in the wheat and barley yields and olive seedlings demolishing the crops and the olive saplings.
Coordinator of the Popular Committees to Resist the Wall and Settlements east of Yatta, Ratib al-Jabour, stated that the heavily armed settlers, under army protection, have escalated their invasions against Palestinians in Yatta and in the towns and hamlets of Masafer Yatta by assaulting houses and structures, grazing their livestock on the crops, demolishing electricity networks, and stealing drinking water to force people to leave their houses and lands in favor of settlement expansion.
