Morocco to buy “Delilah missile” from Israel

Media sources on Saturday reported that Morocco entered into negotiations to purchase Israel’s cruise missile, known as the Delilah missile, to develop the Royal Air Force arsenal.

Defense and Military News reported that Morocco was approaching a security agreement with the Israeli arms company Elbit Systems to provide the Moroccan armed forces with cruise missiles.

According to sources, Morocco aims to operate the Israeli missile on F-5 aircraft in the first phase.

“The completion of the military deal between Elbit Systems and the Royal Armed Forces depends on the permission of Israeli security institutions, but this does not pose any problem for Morocco in the light of the recent political rapprochement between the two countries,” the sources reported.

“Morocco received a range of defensive regimes from Israel after the recent political agreement between the two parties, presented by the visit of Army Minister Benny Gantz to the capital Rabat to examine joint security files,” Ministry of Army data said.

“The Royal Armed Forces have come up with modern defense security systems developed by a range of Israeli military companies, including Israel Space Industries Company, Elbit Systems Company, and Raphael Company,” a recent ministry report said.

The report confirmed that “the countries of Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain signed joint agreements with Israel to obtain such security systems, with a financial value exceeding $ 800 million,” adding that “the exports of the Ministry of the Army to the Arab region will exceed $1 billion in 2022.”
