Rent car for 80 thousand dollars for 3 days!!!
Earlier this month, a Canadian woman received a bill of thousands of dollars for “extra mileage” she passed in a car she rented from the American company “Avis” at Toronto airport.
And the distances traveled are often coupled with the value of the bill in most Western countries, according to “Euronews”.
Giovanna Boniface said she traveled from Vancouver to Toronto, where she rented a car at the airport, to help her daughter move to the city where she will continue her education.
Boniface added that she drove a little in the city center, and also visited her mother-in-law, who lives about 100 kilometers from Toronto, and that in sum, she did not drive more than 300 kilometers in three days.
However, after the woman returned the car to the airport, she received a bill of 8,000 euros from Avis, with the rental company stating that she drove 36,000 kilometers in three days.
It was not possible for the woman to return to the information desk at the airport so that she would not miss the plane.
No one can drive 36,000 kilometers in 3 days, so the distance that can be passed by car within 72 hours may not exceed 30,000 kilometers at best.
Visa, the company responsible for Boniface’s credit card, said it was unable to stop the wire transfer.
Nine days after the incident, and after the news spread in the local media because of a tweet, Avis called the woman and admitted the mistake, but she did not explain what exactly happened, adding that she would refund the additional money paid.
