WAFA records 21 Israeli violations against Palestinian journalists

The Israeli occupation forces executed 21 attacks against Palestinian journalists in July, including shootings, arrests, and a ban from travel, the official WAFA news agency said on Monday.

It said in its monthly statement on Israeli attacks against Palestinian journalists in the occupied regions that it documented 21 violations, including shooting at journalists while covering occurrences in the West Bank, mainly settlers’ violence against Palestinians, and the arrest and arrest of several journalists, including one, Mohammad Assida, 39, married with five children, from Nablus who has been held in administrative detention for four consecutive four-month terms.

WAFA stated that in several incidents, the Israeli forces prevented TV staff from carrying out their work and held them for several hours, while in one accident, the soldiers fired teargas at a Palestine TV crew while covering an anti-settlements activity in Beit Dajan, near Nablus, and in other incidents, the journalist, Ibrahim Atta, was shot in the leg by a rubber bullet while covering an army raid of Deir Abu Mishal town, west of Ramallah, and photojournalist Abdul Majeed Udwan was hit by a rubber bullet while covering a protest in Kufr Qaddoum, east of Qalqilya.

The Israeli forces also restricted two journalists, Majdoleen Hassouneh, who works for the Turkish TRT channel, and Mujahed Saadi, from going to Jordan.
