Washington warns of ongoing clashes in Jerusalem
The United States is deeply worried by the brutality in Jerusalem, where at least 152 Palestinians were wounded in clashes with Israeli riot forces, the State Department said on Friday.
“We call on all sides to exercise restraint, avoid provocative actions and rhetoric, and preserve the historic status quo on the Haram al-Sharif/Temple Mount,” spokesperson Ned Price said in a statement.
Palestinian sources reported that more than 300 Palestinian worshipers were injured as Israeli forces fired live bullets and stun grenades against them, and around 500 Palestinians were arrested.
Moreover, Israeli soldiers assaulted women in the yards of the Aqsa Mosque preventing them from reaching the Qebli mosque.
Besides, Al Aqsa breacher Iqrema Sabri said that Israeli occupation forces attacked the worshipers in the yards of the Aqsa mosque without warning using excessive force against people who came to pray in the mosque.
