“We reject ongoing attacks on Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa”: Hamas
Head of Hamas’ Arab and Muslim Relations Office, Khalil al-Hayya, said on Sunday that the Israeli occupation has gone too far in Judaising occupied Jerusalem and displacing its Palestinian population while expanding the presence of Israeli settlers and illegal settlement neighborhoods.
Al-Hayya called on the Arab and Muslim world to protect Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque with every means possible.
“The Israeli occupation government tried to export its internal crisis by resuming its aggression against the Palestinian people at home and abroad and going ahead with its settlement and Judaisation plans in Jerusalem”, al-Hayya added.
Al-Hayya condemned security collaboration with the Israeli occupation and political arrests and crackdown on freedoms by the Palestinian Authority (PA) security services.
Hamas called on the PA not to count on negotiations with the Israeli occupation, emphasizing that hopes of reaching a political solution faded away.
The Palestinian people hope to reconstruct their institutions through a democratic process, al-Hayya explained.
He praised Palestinian residents of the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 for staying committed to their national identity and land.
