Settlers attack Palestinian man near Ya’bad: sources
A group of Israeli settlers on Sunday attacked and hit a Palestinian man while working on his own land near the town of Ya’bad, in the northern West Bank province of Jenin, local sources reported.
Witnesses said that the violent settlers attacked and beat up Samir Tawfiq Abu-Bakr, 65, while he was working on his own land, causing him grazes throughout his body.
Citizens who ran to the scene of the attack were able to save the man from the hands of the attacking settlers, said the witnesses. Abu-Bakr was subsequently vacated to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Israeli settler attack against defenseless Palestinian civilians and their property is a normal attack in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli occupation authorities.
There are more than 600,000 Israeli settlers living in Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in transgression of international law and consensus.
