IOF destroys dwellings and agricultural buildings in Hebron

Israeli forces (IOF) on Wednesday destroyed a number of dwellings and agricultural buildings in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, according to local sources.

Fuad al-Amour reported that Israeli troops and officers of the so-called Civil Administration barged their way into al-Fakhit and al-Mirkez hamlets, where they demolished three residential rooms, four tents, a mobile house, and two livestock barns, all referred to the families of Abu Sabha neighborhood.

Israeli forces also seized three tents belonging to the same family as well as it had demolished a 100-meter-squared dwelling for the same family some two weeks ago.

Recently, Israel’s top court granted the troops the green light to forcibly expel some 1,300 Palestinians living in twelve towns or hamlets making up the Masafer Yatta area, which depends heavily on animal husbandry as the main source of livelihood, marking one of the biggest expulsions carried out by the State of Israel in recent decades.

Details of the occupation plan to confront resistance operations in the West Bank

Found in Area C of the West Bank, under full Israeli administrative and military control, the area has been subjected to reiterated Israeli violations by settlers and troops targeting their main source of living – livestock.

It has been appointed as a closed Israeli military zone for training since the 1980s and is accordingly referred to as Firing Zone 918.

Israeli attacks against the area include the demolition of animal barns, houses, and residential structures. The distribution of construction permits by Israel to local Palestinians in the area is non-existent.
