Palestinian prisoner enters 20th year in Israeli jails
Palestinian detainee Qusai Hamdiyah, 44 years old, from Jenin, on Wednesday entered his 20th year in the Israeli occupation jails.
The Palestinian Prisoners Club reported that Israeli occupation forces detained inmate Hamdiyah on June 29, 2003, after breaking into his house during a military raid in Al-Damon in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin.
The Israeli court convicted inmate Hamdiyah to 28 years in jail, of which he served 20 years. Last year, the mother of Hamdiyah died without having an opportunity to meet his son. Meanwhile, Hamdiyah was deprived of bidding her farewell.
At least 4700 Palestinians are held now inside the Israeli jails including 32 women and 170 children. In addition, over 500 Palestinian inmates are held administratively without trial or charge.
