Twitter allows you to withdraw from disturbing conversations
The social media platform Twitter added a new feature that allows all users to take themselves out of the conversations they are added to through the feature “Manshan”, as part of the platform’s efforts to avoid users from being subjected to disturbing messages and to prevent them from harassment via Twitter.
Twitter began testing the new feature with a selection of users, before recently making it available to all users globally.
The “not mentioned” feature aims to make the user able to leave any conversation to which he was a party, but he has lost interest in it or is no longer willing to continue to participate in it, thereby discontinuing the transmission of alerts to him about the developments of this conversation.
Before adding the new feature, Twitter users were experiencing a storm of alerts and messages from any conversation once someone linked that user’s account to the conversation via one of the messages, which is disturbing for many users especially if that user has joined in the conversation without being willing from the beginning.
The Twitter platform says that using the new feature is very easy as the user clicks on the three-point button in the window of any conversation and then chooses to “leave the conversation” to stop sending them alerts, and no other user will be able to add them to the conversation via any message.
At the same time, the rest of the users will not know the order of the user leaving the conversation and therefore will not be embarrassed or worried about his decision to exit it for his friends or other parties to the conversation.
