Iran nuclear deal: EU studies Tehran’s react to its “final” proposal
Iran asserted the possibility of resuming the nuclear agreement, provided the United States is realistic and flexible.
Tehran on Monday responded to a draft that the European Union said was final on reviving the 2015 nuclear deal with major powers. The EU mediators presented the draft to the Iranian negotiators in the last round of the Vienna talks on August 8.
The official added that Tehran’s demand for the United States to remove the IRGC from the State Department’s official blacklist of “foreign terrorist organizations” was dropped from discussions, and instead this point would be dealt with “in the future,” after the deal.
It is the first meeting of Iran and officials from world powers in Vienna since March, when negotiations, which began in 2021 to reintegrate the United States into the agreement, stalled.
