Israeli soldiers kidnap 16 Palestinians in West Bank raids
Israeli occupation forces on Monday overnight kidnapped more than 16 Palestinians in numerous invasions across the West Bank, according to local sources.
Local sources reported that Israeli forces arrested nine Palestinians, including two brothers, after storming and searching the houses of their families in Husan village, west of the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem.
It added that undercover Israeli forces, known as Musta’ribeen, kidnaped another from Sultan Suleiman Street in East Jerusalem.
This came as forces barged their way into the Jerusalem neighborhoods of Wadi Hilweh, Bi‘r Ayyoub, and Ein al-Louzeh in Silwan, erupting clashes.
In the northern West Bank, another was arrested from al-Yamoun town, west of Jenin.
Gun-toting soldiers re-arrested a former inmate and searched his home in Tammun town, south of Tubas.
In the central West Bank, the soldiers imprisoned four others in multiple incursions in Ramallah and al-Bireh districts.
Sources clarified that one of the inmates was recognized as a former prisoner from al-Mazra‘a al-Gharbiya village, northwest of the city, another as a citizen of the nearby village of Qarawat Bani Zeid, another as a citizen of the al-Mughayyir village, northeast of the city, and the fourth as a citizen of Saffa village, west of the city.
The sources authorized a raid in Nabi Saleh town, northwest of the city, where the soldiers opened fire towards and tracked local teens. Neither wounds nor imprisonments were reported though.
In Jericho, the sources affirmed similar clashes at the entrance of Fasayil village, northwest of the city.
The heavily-armed troops opened fire on teenage citizens. No wounds were reported though.
