“LG” intends to unveil largest TV with “OLED” technology in world
South Korean electronics company “LG Electronics” announced today, Monday, its intention to unveil the largest television set that works with organic photodiode (OLD) technology at the IFA International Electronics Fair in Berlin, Germany.
As part of its endeavor to expand the range of televisions it provides to its customers and consolidate its leadership in the latest televisions sector.
And the South Korean Yonhap News Agency quoted LG as saying that it intends to unveil a 97-inch TV with OLED technology and other devices during the exhibition, which begins next Friday.
The device will be put on sale in the market during the last quarter of this year, which represents the peak season for electronic devices shopping in conjunction with the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations in the world.
With the unveiling of the huge new device, LG Electronics’ TV portfolio will include 42, 48, 55, 77, 83 and 88 inch TVs, in addition to the new 97 inch TV.
It is noteworthy that the South Korean company Samsung Electronics occupies the first place in terms of market share in the market of expensive TVs, whose price starts from 2500 dollars, with a share of 53.6 percent, followed by LG. With a share of 21.5 percent, then Sony of Japan with a share of 17.2 percent, according to the estimates of O Media, which specializes in monitoring the electronics market.
On the other hand, LG ranks first in the OLED TV market, with sales of 1.69 million units during the first half of this year, equivalent to about 62% of the total global sales of this category of TVs.
