Amnesty describes Israeli aggression against Palestinians as a “Crime Against Humanity”
Amnesty International defined the Israeli entity as an apartheid state, citing that its ongoing invasions of the Palestinian people constitute a “crime against humanity.”
“Apartheid is not just a relic of the past, it is the lived reality for Palestinians across Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories it is happening to this day,” the organization stated on Twitter, published by the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) on Wednesday.
Amnesty International clarified that as an international human rights organization, “We Amnesty are monitoring reports of unlawful killings, arbitrary arrests, torture, and collective punishment,” in Palestinian regions.
“Apartheid is valuing the life of one group more than that of another, Israels apartheid is maintained through killings, torture, and denying Palestinians their basic rights. It is a crime against humanity. This must end,” they said.
The occupied Palestinian territories, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem faced a recent escalation by Israeli occupation forces and settlers, who keep storming the mosque and attacking worshippers, as well as increasing the frequency of detentions and live bullets fired at Palestinian youths.
Amnesty International last February documented a report charging Israel with committing the crime of apartheid, oppression, domination and persecution, and denial of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
